Training Deeply, in physical fitness, begins with a specific focus and neurological connection to individual muscles - then relating to how they work with their respective antagonists - and then culminating with a harmony of everything moving in symphony!
I believe our bodies, like a house or relationship, need a strong foundation. Building from the ground up is how I always train and how I have achieved such longevity as a professional artistic athlete. Your body will adapt and evolve continuously, and the trickle down effect can be so rewarding. Even when I am at the height of my game, there is always room - and importance - to think foundationally and push your body from there.
I have always admired Bruce Lee's philosophy of continuous learning and self-discovery. Don't ever stop being curious and growing....even if you think your quads are right where you want them to be, for example! You can always train deeper...
